As a rule of thumb I never choose a place if it rated 4.5 or less. Most of the times I am right and this has not been an exception, actually this has been short of a disaster. I not only found the menu very expensive, I have paid £55 for 4 prawns, pil pil prawns, and 5 pieces of lamb on a very "generous" bed of mash potatos and three pints, it is how long we have waited from starters to mains, circa 1 hour. I feel swindled, to be honest, after finding out you add 10% for service on top of everything else. Pizzas were more dough than anything else, and the chicken paninni my wife had was a calzone where the chicken had deserted the plate. You also wanted to charge us for a la carte dessert, when the only desserts were ordered by people ordering from the menu. I understand sometimes things do not go as you intend to and this has been just a one off unlucky experience, but with all due respect I will save myself from finding out when things do go right at your place.

Avoid. We were a party of seven, our experience was disappointing from start to finish. We arrived to find the reception desk unattended, with no staff in sight to greet us—a poor first impression for our group. The food was a significant letdown, and the quality felt like a blatant cost-saving exercise. The lasagna tasted like a frozen meal reheated in a grill—stale and lacking freshness. The tagliatelle was rubbery and served cold, a clear sign of being held too long. Portion sizes were shockingly small; the tagliatelle made a McDonald's Happy Meal look generous. The pizza was so thin it was almost transparent, and the starter calamari was bland and forgettable. While the market fish was reasonable, it was the lone edible exception in a meal that was not genuine Italian cuisine. Unfortunately, the indifferent service matched the subpar food. When we tried to leave, no staff were visible to bring the bill. I had to go to the front desk and ask for it, only to be told I had to wait—even after explaining I was in a rush. The only saving grace was the restaurant's location. We cannot recommend this restaurant based on our visit. This is not a genuine Italian food restaurant.

Went for the Christmas Sessions meal. Set menu. Started with the welcome drink that was Prosecco or orange juice, I asked for water. They charged for it. It’s a welcome drink. Had the anti pasti plate for starter. Bear in mind this is a set menu. You’re paying top dollar for this. £60 per head, way over the cost of 3 courses I’d imagine. The standard plate had various cured meats and mozzarella alongside the vegetables and bread. The vegan version just didn’t have the meats and cheese. No substitutes, no imagination, maybe just a few more grilled veg. This is 2025. I don’t really expect to be eating like it’s still 1985. After the inauspicious start it’s time for the main course, the veganised version of the squash and sweet potato dish. This one was just funny. Comparing the simple amount of food on my plate even with the vegetarian version of the same dish was comical. 3 roast potatoes, a few beans and carrots (I’ll lay a bet the carrots weren’t actually vegan, why would they bother making a substitute version of that when they’re not bothering with any of the other ingredients?) and some squash. No substitutes for the creamed greens, no sub for the Yorkshire pudding. Remember, you’re paying the same price for this, and that must be £30 odd for a main on a £60 set menu. The other people at my table just laughed at the plate. It was literally half the food of the veggie version, and so much less than the meat dishes. What was on the plate tasted quite nice, but come on. Come. On. You do a garlic bread pizza, why not one of those on the side to make up for the yorkie? Why not some other greens on the plate? Make some kind of effort. This is group booking season and there are going to be some seriously embarrassed organisers looking in at their work colleagues being treated to this sorry excuse for a vegan option. The desert was fine. Probably bought in because why make the effort? And that’s the word. Effort. This was low effort. The lowest effort. Just write on your menu 'vegans not welcome' and be done with it. Or charge half the price. Just don’t charge me £60 for this. It’s just taking the mick. I’ve eaten Michelin starred vegan food that cost less than this.

Celebrated my birthday at Italian Sul Lago — wonderful ambiance, delicious food, and a great time with family! The live music added a lively atmosphere.

Really nice spot by the lake! The food was fresh and tasty (loved the lamb and pasta), and the staff were super friendly. Great atmosphere and views — definitely worth checking out

I had the best meal today celebrating my birthday with a party of nine! The food here is absolutely DELICIOUS, but what really made the experience stand out was the incredible service. Steven, our waiter, went above and beyond to make this a truly memorable birthday. I eat out a lot, 2 to 3 times a week - and I can honestly say this was the best service I’ve ever had. Steven and the team made us feel so welcome and taken care of. What an absolute gem of a place! Highly recommend!

Nice place for a dinner and a sunset. Disappointed that I got there at 3 pm (travelling from France to home) and found out that the kitchen was closed until 5 pm. Took a walk around the lake and came back because I really wanted to try their pizza. Pizza was probably the best and most close to authentic Italian pizza I’ve ever had around UK, but £18 for “Royal Pizza” which besides the base, chicken, mozzarella and some basil leaves had nothing else so I would say on the pricey side; prosciutto and burrata was lovely. We also had desserts which were good. Service at the table was ok but I would suggest that only one person serves at a table not 4 different people.

First time in this restaurant and had a really lovely evening. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Steven. The food was exceptional and it was finished off with the amazing view over the lake

It was a really nice experience dining here on a Friday night. The service staff were amazing with high gusto and great service. Food was also super tasty with a nice selection of food. However the night we went the pizza oven wasn't working so wanting to come back to try it. Overall a great experience.

Lovely Lakeside Dining – Worth the Splurge! Had a fantastic lunch at this Italian restaurant right next to Fuzton Lake—the views are absolutely stunning! The food was delicious; I enjoyed a tasty pizza and perfectly cooked sea bass. The interior is stylish and inviting, though the prices are a bit on the higher side. Still, the great ambiance, excellent food, and breathtaking scenery make it worth it. Highly recommend for a special meal by the water!
